‘Iran ready to hold talks with 5+1 group’

TEHRAN,Dec.30(MNA) -- In a separate meeting with managers, editors-in-chief and columnists of Turkish media in Istanbul on Friday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast answered their questions. “Iran is completely ready to hold talks with the 5+1 group” within a logical framework and the country is committed not to use nuclear energy for military purposes “and (the West) also should recognize our peaceful (nuclear) activities,” he said. The Iranian official pointed out that Tehran is ready to allay international concerns over the country’s nuclear program and hope that the negotiations will bear fruit. Iran has been holding several rounds of talks with the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) over its nuclear program.
