‘Morsi’s attendance at NAM summit will help enhance Tehran-Cairo ties’

TEHRAN,Aug.27(MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s attendance at the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran, which will be held on Thursday and Friday, will help enhance Iran-Egypt relations. Egypt’s state-owned Al-Ahram newspaper reported on Saturday that Morsi will spend four hours in Tehran on August 30 to hand over the presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement to the Islamic Republic. The Egyptian president will stop in Tehran on his way back from a 36-hour visit to China, the newspaper said. Mehmanparast, who was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the NAM expert meetings on Sunday, also said that Morsi will meet with a number of Iranian officials during his visit to Iran.
