“Hours of great constructions” meeting held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman of the Agency of Information Technology and Communications (AITC) Ts.Jadambaa Monday attended the “Hours of great constructions” weekly meeting, reporting about projects and prgrammes implemented since 2012 and planned works and goals. The department has set seven key goals to be realized between 2012 and 2016, Jadambaa said, adding that Mongolia plans to have two satellites of reconnaissance and communications by 2016 in frames of the “National Satellite” programme. Mongolia has sent its request to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for the first time to use cosmic space, he said. The AITC head reported that a total of 47 electric machines for governmental services have been installed in the capital city and in all aimags, and extra 59 such devices will be placed this year within the goal called “Queue-free governmental service”. He also highlighted the price of the Internet access reduced three times in localities, and the speed has fastened twice. The AITC is working to transmit into the nationwide digital system on July 31 of this year, and the TV network is expected to transfer into the digital system around the country in second quarter of 2014, Jadambaa said. Regarding postage service, the agency has installed ‘smart’ post boxes in 18 places of the capital city, in Darkhan and Erdenet cities, with an aim to make the service closer to consumers, the AITC head said.
