11,150 people have been killed in Syria

ISTANBUL (A.A) - March 19, 2012 - Nearly 11,150 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began in mid-March 2011 with mass protests in Deraa as part of the wider "Arab Spring," according to a death count database of the opposition forces fighting against Bashar al Assad's regime.
The database put confirmed civilian casualties at 10,127 who were killed either in clashes or under military custody with 795 of them were children and 667 women as 1,027 Syrian troops were also killed in the incidents.
A total of 979 were killed by security forces during demonstrations, 839 were killed by sniper fire and 444 people were killed under torture.
