1st VP: Iran Keen To Bolster Ties With Uganda

Tehran, Feb 19, IRNA – First Vice-President Es-haq Jahangiri said on Tuesday that that Iran is willing to expand relations with Uganda.
Speaking to Ugandan First Vice-President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi on the sidelines of the 9th conference of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Jahangiri said as a country with many experiences and potential, Iran is well prepared for expansion of relations with Uganda.
He said one of the main policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran during tenure of President Rouhani is to expand ties with African countries.
Jahangiri thanked the Ugandan delegation for attending the Tehran meeting and said exchange of high-ranking delegations by the two countries will be effective in promotion of ties.
The Ugandan official thanked Iran for its warm hospitality and said his country favors development of ties with Iran.
He said there is no limit to economic activities in Uganda, inviting Iranian companies to participate in such activities in Uganda./end
