221 tons of illegal drugs found in 6 months

TEHRAN, Sept. 29 (MNA) - 221 tons of illegal drugs were discovered during the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (starting March 21) which shows a discovery of 1188 kilograms of drugs per day, the anti-drug police chief announced in a press conference on Tuesday. Ali Mo’ayedi said today people consider drugs as a threat not only to their lives but also to their children and the future generations, so the anti-narcotics police are working hard to allay people’s concerns in this regard. He added opium and then hashish were among the most discovered drugs during this period.
