90 tons of drugs seized in Iran’s border areas in 9 months

TEHRAN,Jan.19(MNA) – The Iranian police seized about 90 tons of illicit drugs in the country’s border areas in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 20, 2012, Border Police Deputy Chief Ahmad Geravand told the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency on Friday. He also said that drugs seizures in border areas increased by 76 percent compared with the same period a year ago.
