About 40 Foreign Companies Ready To Invest In Iran Mining Sector

Tehran, March 15, IRNA – Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Karbasian said Saturday that some 37 leading foreign companies have voiced readiness to make investments in Iran’s mining sector in the past few months. Addressing a group of managers from IMIDRO, the official said holding of a conference by Iranian and German businessmen in Germany in April 2014 was the first move in line with increasing activity of foreign companies in Iran. IMIDRO is the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization which is a major state-owned holding company active in the mining sector in the country. Karbasian said one of the major policies of the Iranian government is to attract more foreign investors to Iran./end
