Agreement between Iran, P5+1 scarcely possible without experts' access to Parchin facility

VIENNA, May 14. /TASS/. Countries making up the P5+1 group -- five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany -- will put pressure on the Iranian side for assuring access to experts to the military facility in Parchin, a Western diplomatic source taking part in the Vienna talks told TASS. "An agreement simply won't do without Parchin," he said. "I can’t imagine a situation where it wouldn’t be included in the list of facilities for (expert) visits because it has already turned into an emblem," the diplomat said, adding however that the sides had been unable to tap agreement on the problem so far. A number of Western experts claim defence-related nuclear research might have been carried out at Parchin - something that Teheran denies resolutely saying the facility was never used for any works connected with the nuclear programme. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov admitted earlier the sides had been unable to coordinate positions on the experts’ access to the Parchin site. "I can’t answer with certainty a question on whether the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency will get access to Parchin," he said at the end of April after a yet another meeting of Iranian and P5+1 political directors on Iran," he said.
