Agreement on combating terrorism to be ratified

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. At its regular meeting on August 28, the Cabinet issued the Prime Minister’s ordinance on granting authorization to authenticate Mongolia and Russia intergovernmental agreement on cooperation for combating terrorism. The agreement consists of nine provisions that comply with the concept, principles and purpose of the international anti-terrorism treaties to which the two countries are part, and resolutions of UN Security Council and UN General Assembly. Within the framework of the agreement, the countries will collaborate in exchanging information about the suspected or groups of any terrorist threats that will probably be conducted against the people and to affect the interest of the two countries, in prevention of terrorism, detecting and stopping terrorist attacks, investigating a person who committed attack and ensuring security during state high-level visits, international events and public activities as well as others.
