Ahmadinejad’s media advisor temporarily released from prison

TEHRAN,Dec.22(MNA) – Ali Akbar Javanfekr, the director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and the president’s advisor in media affairs, was granted a temporary leave and was released from prison on Wednesday. The Islamic Revolution Court and a public court had previously found Javanfekr guilty of two charges, namely publishing remarks that run contrary to Islamic principles and undermine public morals. He was arrested and sent to prison on September 26 to serve a one-year term. Javanfekr had also been barred from conducting any media activities for five years. Mohammad Javanfekr, his son, told on Friday that his father was being treated at Tehran’s Atieh Hospital for a heart condition and will return to prison on Monday. He also stated that his father’s kidney and spinal cord pains had intensified while he was in prison.
