Ahmadinejad to focus on NAM in New York

TEHRAN,Sept.20(MNA)– Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that he will focus on the importance of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) during his final visit to the United Nations Headquarters in New York as president of Iran, where he is scheduled to speak at the 67th Session of the UN General Assembly. Ahmadinejad also told reporters on Wednesday that during his visit, he will meet with leaders of a number of countries to discuss the problems facing the world’s people and push efforts to reform the structure of the NAM. Mojtaba Hashemi-Samareh, the senior advisor of President Ahmadinejad, said on September 5 that as the current chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement Ahmadinejad will submit a report on the 16th NAM Summit, which was held in Tehran in late August. This will be the eighth consecutive year that Ahmadinejad attends the annual UN General Assembly session. The 67th regular session opened at the UN Headquarters in New York on Tuesday.
