Ahmadinejad praises Tehran-Kula Lumpur ties

TEHRAN, May 2 (MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the Islamic Republic and Malaysia share common views on various regional and international issues, based on which they can help promote peace and stability in the world. Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting with Pandikar Amin Mulia, the speaker of the lower house of the parliament of Malaysia, on Tuesday on the sidelines of the second meeting of the General Assembly of the Forum of Asia-Pacific Parliamentarians for Education, which opened in Tehran on Monday and closed on Tuesday. He called Tehran-Kuala Lumpur relations very close and fraternal and said that cooperation between the two countries is in favor of all nations across the world and will help enhance world peace. Ahmadinejad also expressed hope that cultural, political, and economic ties would be expanded in the near future. In the meeting, Mulia expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations between the two countries and said that his country is determined to promote bilateral cooperation in all areas and sees no obstacle in the way of expansion of ties. In a separate meeting on Tuesday, Mulia and Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi held talks on various issues including the relations between the two countries.
