Ambassadors of Brazil and Colombia submit credentials

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj Tuesday received Valdemar Carneiro Leao Neto, the Concurrent Non-Resident Ambassador of Brazil, and Mr Jaime Alberto Cabal Sanclemente, the Ambassador of Colombia to Mongolia after they had handed to him the diplomatic credentials. The State Head told the Brazilian Ambassador that Mongolia intends to open its Embassy in Brazil in near future with aims to widen the ties with Latin American and Caribbean countries and to deepen the friendly relations with Brazil. A resolution about it was passed by the Mongolian parliament this year, he added. The President discussed with Ambassador a high-level representatives exchange and a cooperation in economics, trade, investment, mining, energy, agriculture and tourism. Congratulating Brazil on its Independence Day, Mr Elbegdorj hoped that the tourism between the countries will increase thanks to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Summer Olympic Games. The President congratulated Mr Sanclemente on the 25th anniversary of the Mongolia-Colombia diplomatic relations. Then he noted a development of the cooperation with Colombia in the mining and agricultural sectors within international organizations. Mr Elbegdorj said that he applauded the steps made by the Colombian President in combating corruption and in economic reforms, and said Mongolia is ready to fight together with Colombia against trans-boundary crimes.
