AMENDMENT TO LAW ON LABOUR SAFETY AND HYGIENE DISCUSSED

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Civil Hall at the President of Mongolia hosted Friday an open discussion for a draft amendment to the law on labor safety and hygiene. It was co-organized by the Presidential Office, Mongolia’s Trade Unions (MTU) and United Association of Employers (UAE). The MTU’s secretary-general G.Adya made the opening remarks, a head of the department of labor relations and policy regulation at the Ministry of Labor B.Alimaa spoke about a work on the draft. The current law on labor safety, passed in 2008, should be conceptually altered, B.Alimaa emphasized. The draft amendment’s concept has been co-adopted by the Ministers of Labor and of Justice, it has also proposals from other Ministers, she added. The bill has new clauses that determines a general subscriber of works, labour safety for the executors and assistant executors, their hygiene standards, rules and expenses, and also clarifies the labor safety in enterprisers and duties of hygiene workers, she explained.
