Anti-Islam Film Protests Reach Germany

Berlin, Sept 22, IRNA -- Several German cities became the scene of peaceful protests against a blasphemous US film, press reports said Friday. Thousands of demonstrators, among them many women and children, took to the streets of Freiburg, Muenster, Cuxhaven and Hanover to voice outrage over the anti-Islam film which has triggered mass protests across the Muslim world. Marchers held up signs calling for the respect to all relgions and an end to insulting Islam. More protests are scheduled throughout Germany for the weekend. The mass protests are also geared at plans by an obscure German far-right group which wants to screen the anti-Islam film in public. The German government is mulling to ban the public showing of the highly controversial movie, fearing major public unrest./end
