Arts festival of resistance receives over 1500 foreign submissions

TEHRAN,June 16(MNA) – Over 1500 works from foreign artists have been submitted so far to the Third International Arts Festival of Resistance, which is scheduled to be held in Tehran in autumn, organizers announced on Saturday. The artists are from over 70 countries, the secretary of the festival, Mohammad Habibi, said in a press release. The number of the foreign submissions will surely increase before the deadline on June 20, he added. The festival will be covering the categories of painting, poster, photography, cartoon, sculpture, animation, drawing and conceptual art, he said, adding that most of the works submitted so far are among the categories of cartoon, painting and poster. He also stated that the major point in this year’s edition is that the submitted works are not coming just from the Muslim countries; instead artists from the United States, France, Italy, Belgium, and Poland are also participating this year. In addition, organizers held over 30 workshops across the country attended by young artists and university students, a selection of whose artwork will go on show during the festival, he said. The third edition of the International Arts Festival of Resistance will be held at the Saba Art and Cultural Institute.
