Austrian President Receives Iran’s New Ambassador

Vienna, July 3, IRNA – Austrian President Heinz Fischer received Iran’s new Ambassador to Vienna Hassan Tajik on Tuesday. In a ceremony in Presidential Palace, Tajik submitted his credentials to President Fischer. The Austrian president, by referring to friendly and old ties between the two countries, expressed Austrian statesmen's interest in Iran’s civilization, culture and history. In part of his speech, Fischer underlined necessity of finding a peaceful solution to Iran’s nuclear issue through holding talks. Iranian ambassador, by referring to Austria positive image in Iran and friendly relations between the two countries for many years, expressed Iran’s interest in expansion of bilateral cooperation. Tajik also expounded on Iran’s efforts for finding a peaceful solution to nuclear issue and presented a report on Baghdad and Istanbul meetings./end
