Azerbaijan Deputy Minister of Justice meets Council of Europe official

Baku, May 24, AZERTAC Azerbaijan Deputy Minister of Justice Togrul Musayev has met with Daniel Popescu, Head of the Democratic Governance Department at the Council of Europe. The Council of Europe delegation is in Baku to attend a conference held within the “Civil Society Dialogue in Azerbaijan” project, co-initiated by the Council of Europe and the European Union. Speaking about the measures taken to develop civil society in the country, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister said that all conditions for the activities of non-governmental organizations were created, legislative and institutional reforms were carried out in this area in Azerbaijan. Musayev noted the importance of the “Civil Society Dialogue” project. Expressing his satisfaction with his first visit to Azerbaijan, Daniel Popescu exchanged views on the project, stressing that the Ministry of Justice is a key partner and noted the successful implementation of the project. The guest expressed his intention to continue the cooperation. Zoltan Hernyes, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Azerbaijan, was present at the event.
