Bangkok Sees 87.22% Turnout in Advance Voting

BANGKOK, March 18 (TNA) -- The voters’ turnout was 87.22% in advance voting in Bangkok and the percentage was not lower than 80% in any single district of the capital. City clerk Silapasuay Raweesaengsoon said 810,306 people cast their voted, forming 87.22% of 929,061 people earlier registering for the early voting. The five districts with the highest number of present voters were in descending order as follows: Bang Kapi with 52,515 voters making a 85.53% turnout Bang Khunthian with 36,755 voters (86.46%) Huai Khwang with 35,268 voters (86.41) Ratchathewi with 30,343 voters (89.35) Watthana with 27,078 voters (85.63) The five following districts showed the highest turnout percentages in descending order: Bangkok Yai with a 92.70% turnout by 5,611 voters Samphanthawong with 91.86% by 2,933 voters Phaya Thai with 91.62% by 10,238 voters Pathumwan with 90.89% by 8,635 voters Bang Kholaem with 90.80% by 4,434 voters Prawet was the district with the lowest number of voters showing up, 19,480 people, but their turnout was 83.26%. Bangkok’s central polling unit for people with disabilities and elderly people saw an 84.82% turnout by 218 people. (TNA)
