Bhutan FM : Iran, Good Example Of Playing Influential Roles For NAM Members

Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA – Bhutan Foreign Minister Khandu Wangchuk said that Iran is a good example of playing influential roles for the Non-Aligned Movement member states. He made the remarks while talking to reporters upon his arrival here Monday morning for the Non-Aligned Movement ministerial meeting. The foreign minister expressed happiness over Iran’s hosting the NAM Summit and stressed that the NAM was the second most important global alliance after the United Nations which plays a very influential role in the global arena. He further underlined the significance of the ongoing meeting and said it provides very good opportunity for experts, foreign ministers and heads of state of developing countries to tackle international economic and political problems. The experts meeting of the 16th NAM summit was officially started in Tehran Sunday morning with a speech by Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi. Some 107 delegates are attending the experts meeting. The two-day meeting will be followed by the meeting of NAM foreign ministers on August 28-29 and the summit is to be held on August 30-31./end
