"Bomb attacks in Iraq aim to prevent meeting of Arab League"

BAGHDAD (A.A) - March 20, 2012 - Iraqi Parliament Speaker Usama al-Nujeyfi said Tuesday that today's bomb attacks in different parts of Iraq aimed at preventing the meeting of the Arab League in Baghdad. In a written statement released Tuesday, al-Nujeyfi said that the bomb attacks that shook Iraq on Tuesday aimed to prevent the Arab summit at the end of March as well as to prevent the General National Conference that hopes to find a solution to the political problem in Iraq. Iraqi security forces need to take measures to prevent terrorist incidents and protect the Iraqi people, al-Nujeyfi said. 39 Iraqis were killed while 199 others injured in 17 separate bomb attacks in Baghdad, Kirkuk, Hille, Salahaddin, Mosul, Ramadi and Karbala cities on Tuesday.
