Border Guard Rejects News Of Alien Media

Zahedan, Jan 29, IRNA – Commanding office of border guard of Sistan & Baluchestan Province rejected news disseminated by foreign media about killing of six Pakistani citizens by Iranian forces. It also said the killed persons were drug smugglers and armed bandits who were killed in a clash with Iranian border guards. A fax sent to IRNA on Saturday afternoon said that a number of smugglers and armed bandits entered Iran’s border in an area known as “ Dahaneh-Sar” and ignored the order of border guards to stop and started firing to the officers. So, border guard officers started to exchange fire with them for 90 minutes and six of them were killed in the shoot-out. Border guards of the province denied disseminated news by certain foreign media that the killed persons were Pakistani citizens and the incident happened inside Pakistan territory and underlined that the clash occurred inside Iran and the armed bandits started shooting. The report said that the killed persons were carrying drugs and 1,042 kilograms of opium and hashish was confiscated in the place by Iranian border guards. In the 90 minutes of clashes, none of the Iranian military forces were injured./end
