BRAZIL CONGRATULATES MONGOLIA ON OPENING EMBASSY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs G.Tsogtsaikhan made a working visit to Brazil December 1-2. Mr Tsogtsaikhan met wth the Brazilian Deputy FM Mr Eduardo dos Santos and Deputy Secretary-General for Politics II, Ministry of External Affairs Ms Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis. Ms Reis congratulated Mr Tsogtsaikhan on a decision to open the Mongolian Embassy in Brazil, and "it will be a politically significant step to boost the bilateral relations and collaboration". Brazil is also interested in strengthening bilateral relations and ties and in cooperating with Mongolia, particularly in education, sports, economy and mineral spheres, she said and noted the opportunities to involve the Mongolian students in scholarships, to run exchange programs, and to attract Mongolian young footballers in trainings in Brazil. She said that a Brazil-Mongolia friendship group has been created at the National Congress of Brazil, "which will play an important role in fostering inter-parliament cooperation". In turn, the State Secretary Tsogtsaikhan said Mongolia is paying an attention on boosting of relations and ties between our two countries and expressed a confidence that Mongolia will open its Embassy in Brazil, "so cooperation in politics, economy, trade, investments, education and sports spheres will be extended". He also asked the Brazilian side to focus on a Mongolia-initiated visa-waiving agreement and then spoke about actions on improvement of legal environment for investments and on increase in foreign investments.
