'British officer should be tried as war criminal for explosive vests'

TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (MNA) - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces said the English officer who was arrested in Kabul for carrying explosive vests should be tried in English courts as a war criminal. Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said, “Explosive vests made by the West and Zionists are by far more dangerous than the weapons of mass destruction and they have empowered terrorists by tens of times.” In a speech on Friday, Firouzabadi stated that if the British officer does not stand trial in English courts, he should be tried in international courts. He added over the past centuries the British have endeavored to create division among Muslims and members of other religions and by spreading lies they have pursued their own interests. The Zionists and British with obscenity have violated human and international rights and they should be held accountable for terrorist acts conducted by explosive vests in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran, the major general stated. The explosive vests are not used in war zones, but in public places where innocent people, women and children fall victims, he said.
