CABINET ABOUT LAST YEAR'S WINTER AND SPRING WORKS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the cabinet issued a resolution on results of winter and spring works in the agricultural sector and on ensuring a preparation for the 2012-2013 winter works.
The Ministers have considered winter and spring works as good, performed with some 87 per cent. Mongolia prepared 1.2 million tons of hay and 46.8 thousand tons of industrial fodder; losses in livestock were miserable--275.6 thousand or 0.8 per cent, much lower than the average of many years; moreover, 99.0 per cent of female animals, counted at the beginning of 2012, gave birth, of which almost 100 per cent survived--14.4 million heads, 300 thousand of them are twins. For the time being, we have 50 million three thous. heads.
In spring this year, Mongolia planted grain on 306.1 thousand hectares, potatoes--on 16.1 thousand hectares, vegetables--on 7.0 thousand hectares, fodder--on 10 thousand hectares, oil plants--on 32.3 thousand hectares and fruits--on 687.0 hectares.
The cabinet members underlined an importance of keeping the positive indicators of learning some lessons. An obligation has been given to R.Sodkhuu, a head of the General Agency for Specialized Inspection, to limit the meat export until March 1 of 2013 in order to ensure the meat preparation in the city, protect domestic market of meat, stabilize meat supply. Other members of the cabinet and governors of aimags and the City's Mayor have been ordered to thoroughly get prepared for the harvesting and 2012-2013 wintering.
