Cabinet approves joint communique of Thai, Vietnamese PMs

BANGKOK, Aug 16 (TNA) -- The cabinet approved a draft joint communique by the prime ministers of Thailand and Vietnam on the signing of an agreement on partnerships in trade, education and economic affairs. The signing will happen when Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuoc pays an official visit to Thailand on Aug 17-19. Col Athisit Chaiyanuwat, assistant government spokesman, said the joint communique covered Thai-Vietnamese partnership from 2014 to 2018; security, academic and economic cooperation; international and sub-regional connectivity; civilians’ relationships; and regional and global interactions. Vietnam already approved the communique and on the same occasion representatives of Thai and Vietnamese ministries would sign six memorandums of understanding, he said. (TNA)
