Cabinet approves tourism development plan for the East
CHANTHABURI, Feb 7 (TNA) -- The cabinet on Tuesday endorsed a plan to develop and promote secondary tourist attractions in the East and will build a big data system to serve Thai tourism.
Tourism and Sports Minister Weerasak Kowsurat said the plan focused on the promotion of outstanding local foods and the development of communities’ chefs and local specialties made from local ingredients.
Besides, it will develop the standard of local homestay facilities and improve tours on local lifestyles, cultures, arts, health services, farming, and natural and marine attractions. Local youths and old people would be trained to be local tour guides to boost local income, the minister said.
