CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Tuesday obliged M.Sonompil, the Minister of Energy, and governors of aimags to implement a construction of thermal stations and pipes in Bayankhongor, Zavkhan, Ovorkhangai, Arkhangai, Dundgobi and Khentii aimags. These works will be done in a way of establishing direct contracts with investors after selecting them within a "state-private sector" partnership. - It was decided to allot one billion 219 million and 575 thousand togrog from the state budget for awarding cash prizes. The money will go to athletes and coaches who have won medals in the Olympic Games, World championships and other biggest international competitions. - The cabinet discussed draft amendments to the laws on excise tax and on minerals and decided to submit them to parliament. - The Minister of Environment and Green Development S.Oyun, and head of the State Property Committee (SPC) D.Tsogtbaatar were ordered to disband the state-run information and training center on Ogii Lake and its marshy areas, and to transfer its properties and functions to the administration of Orkhon River Basin.
