Canadian fund may cooperate with UB projects

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mayor of Ulaanbaatar E.Bat-Uul received Friday the Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia Mr Ed Jager to share with him views on cooperation in solving issues facing the city and on co-organizing projects and programs. ________________________________________ The Ambassador thanked the Mayor for receiving him and said Mongolia and Canada have all possibilities to boost the cooperation in other sectors than mining. He informed the Mayor that he is responsible for managing a fund for local development, which finances minor projects targeted at localities’ development, and expressed a willingness to cooperate with the UB-based state and non-governmental organizations in small and medium scale projects. In response, Mr Bat-Uul expressed his wish to take assistance from Canada for green facilities and urban planning frameworks. "We have a lot to learn from Canada. We appreciate a chance to collaborate with your fund, and will submit proposals for potential projects," he said.
