CHIEF COMMISSIONER OF HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION HEADS FOR GERMANY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by Chief Commissioner of the National Human Rights J.Byambadorj headed for Germany Monday. During the official visit in Germany, the delegation will held a meeting with officials from German Human Rights Institute to share experiences on their project implementation. After that, the delegation is planning head for their main destination Geneva, where the second United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights will run December 4. During the forum, the Mongolian representatives will visit the UN Office of the High Commissioner of the Human Rights and Human Rights Council to held meetings with high officials there. The Forum was established by the Human Rights Council and is under the guidance of the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights. It provides a global platform for the promotion and implementation of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. These Principles, unanimously endorsed in 2011 by the Council, are the first globally accepted standards on the responsibilities of States and businesses for preventing and addressing business-related human rights abuse. Discussing good practices, the forum will highlight the emerging challenges for States, business, and civil society.
