China calls for enhanced cooperation between IAEA and Iran

TEHRAN,Nov.14(MNA) – China encourages the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to strengthen cooperation with Iran to resolve the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
China has always believed that dialogue and cooperation are the only ways to properly resolve the issue, the Chinese official stated during his daily press briefing.
Experts from the IAEA and Iran will meet on December 13 in Tehran for a new round of talks on Iran’s nuclear program.
The latest round of talks between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog was held in Vienna on August 24.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman added that Beijing supports the efforts made by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, as well as Germany, to enhance dialogue with Iran.
China will maintain communication with the relevant parties for an overall, long-term, and proper resolution, he noted.
The latest round of high-level talks between Iran and the six major powers was held in Moscow on June 18 and 19.
