Defence and Security 2017 opened in Thailand

BANGKOK, Nov 8 (TNA) -- World leading defence and security companies from 50 countries and official delegations from over 35 countries take part in the Defence and Security 2017. The 8th biennial edition of Defence and Security was officially opened by Thai Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan at Impact Exhibition and Convention Center in Nonthaburi on Monday. Thailand’s Defence Technology Institute (DTI), an agency under the Ministry of Defence, has also displayed its products including a prototype of a newly developed Amphibious Armoured Personnel Carrier at the event. Gen Prawit said Thailand’s defence industry would focus on research and development and maintenance as a production facility was being built. Defence and Security 2017 has seen expansion of exhibitors and attendance of high-ranking decision-makers one of the largest military events in Asia offering business opportunities in ASEAN market. Over 400 world leading defence and internal security companies from 50 countries have attended Defence and Security 2017. It also features seminars relating to current issues in the defence and internal security industry. (TNA)
