Earthquake victims in northwest Iran receive Japan’s aid

TEHRAN,Aug.25(MNA) – Victims of the strong earthquakes that hit East Azarbaijan Province on August 11 has received Japan’s aid cargos. In a recent ceremony held by the Japanese embassy in Tehran, Ambassador Kinichi Komano expressed sympathy with the earthquake victims and said that he hopes Japan’s aid will provide relief for the homeless victims. The earthquakes left thousands of people homeless in villages in the Varzaqan and Ahar regions. Official figures put the number of the dead at 306 and the injured at over 2000.
