Election Commission Drops Princess’Name from PM Candidate List

BANGKOK, Feb 11 (TNA) – The Election Commission disqualifies Princess Ubolratana as the prime minister candidate of Thai Raksa Chart party in its meeting on Monday. The EC said in its statement that royal family members should be above politics. The commission nullified the nomination of Princess Ubolratana and released the official list of 69 candidates for prime minister from 45 parties. The EC decision to disqualify the princess came after HM the King’s command on Friday, calling the bid as inappropriate. The panel will meet again tomorrow to consider whether Thai Raksa Chart party, an off-shoot of Pheu Thai party should be dissolved or not. (TNA)
