English singer Elton John due in Turkey

ANKARA (A.A) - 21.04.2011 - English singer Elton John will give two concerts in Turkey on the sidelines of his world tour.
Elton John will take stage in Istanbul on July 5 and in Ankara on July 6.
This will be the first time Elton John will give a concert in the capital, Ankara.
"This will be the first time the British singer will be in Turkey in ten years," Ilker Ersil, an executive of the organizer company dealing with the Ankara concert, told AA correspondent on Thursday.
Elton John gave a concert in Istanbul in 1993, and took stage at Ephesus Ancient Theater in 2001.
English singer-songwriter, composer and pianist, Elton John has sold more than 250 million records in his four-decade career, making him one of the most successful artists of all time.
He has more than 50 Top 40 hits, including seven consecutive No.1 U.S. albums, 56 Top 40 singles, and won six Grammy Awards, and Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Tony Award.
He was knighted, and received "Sir" title in 1998.
In 1992 he established the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Since its inception, the foundation has raised over 200 million USD.
