Envoy: Int'l Community Should Act On Iranian Kidnapped Diplomats

Beirut, July 8, IRNA – Iran Ambassador to Lebaon Ghazanfar Roknabadi called on all international organizations, which work on human rights, to act upon their duties to determine the fate of Iranian kidnapped diplomats in Lebanon. Four Iranian diplomats were kidnapped by the agents of the Zionist regime 30 years ago in Lebanon. Roknabadi made the remarks in the 30th anniversary of kidnapping four Iranian diplomats in Lebanon, which was held in Maroun al-Raas region in south of Lebanon and in the presenece of Lebanese foreign minister and families of kidnapped diplomats and a number of Lebanese people. He said that “ Ahmad Motevasselian”, “ Seyed Mohsen Mousavi”, “ Taqi Rastegar-Moqqadam” and “ Kazem Akhavan” were representatives of Iranian nation among Lebanese people. He added that they were messengers of friendship and support of Iranians against invasion of the Zionist regime of Beirut. Roknabadi said that the kidnapping act ignored all international agreements on political immunity of diplomats and continued that the Zionist regime with such an act had tramped human repect. He continued that Iran takes the Zionist regime responsible for this crime and with the help of Lebanese government we could register a document in the United Nations that the kidnapping had occurred at al-barbare region in the year 1982. The Iranian diplomat said that all witnesses and evidence indicated that the kidnapped diplomats are alive and in the Zionist regime prisons./end
