European companies to invest in Iran Electrical Industry

TEHRAN, Sep. 16(MNA) – Iran’s deputy minister of energy has said Iran had received several proposals from reputable European companies to participate in Iran Electrical Industry Syndicate (IEIS). “These companies have proposed to participate in building 1000 and 500 MW solar power plants in Iran,” said Hooshang Falahatian, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Energy. Falahatian pointed to the willingness of European and non-European companies to invest in Iran Electrical Industry and said “we are planning to utilize these companies’ capacities to build solar and wind power plants and to improve the efficiency of the existing plants and to construct new ones. This cooperation is to the benefit of both Iran and the companies investing in Iran.” “We are going to increase trade exchange between Iran and Russia,” he maintained, “based on the agreements that have recently been signed, the cooperation activities have been specified. In the following months, several investment contracts will be signed to reconstruct and increase plants efficiency, construct new steam and coal-fired plants, as well as other equipment needed for the power industry.” “We hope to expand ties with any country wishing to have ties with Iran,” said Falahatian.
