Extremism could undermine Islamic Revolution goals : Iranian EC chairman

TEHRAN, May 23 (MNA) – Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Tuesday that extremism is one of the blights which could spoil the goals of the Islamic Revolution. He said, “Extremists have never served the interests of the country, and the country, in some cases, has suffered from extremist actions.” He added, “Unfortunately, we are observing that those who did not believe in the campaign against (the deposed) shah… are directly or indirectly leading certain extremist groups.”
