FM Anifah on Two-Day Visit to Turkmenistan

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Anifah Aman is making a two-day official visit to Turkmenistan beginning Wednesday to step up bilateral relations. The ministry said in a statement Wednesday that Anifah would be accompanied by his wife, Siti Rubiah Abdul Samad, and several ministry officers. It said Anifah was scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and have a meeting with his counterpart Rashid Meredov Thursday. “These meetings will provide the opportunity for discussing the existing bilateral relations and looking into avenues of cooperation in other areas that can be explored. “Both sides will also be able to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest,” the ministry said. Anifah is also scheduled to speak at the Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan. -- BERNAMA
