FM attending APEC Ministerial meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold is participating in the Ministerial Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) which kicked off Friday in Bali, Indonesia. Mr Bold is attending the meeting as a special guest invited by the government of Indonesia, a chair of the APEC. This is the very first participation of Mongolia in this high-level meeting since Mongolia requested in 1993 to become the APEC member. Mr Bold held a dialogue with his counterpart from Indonesia Mr Marty Natalegawa, exchanging views on the Mongolia-Indonesia relations, multilateral and regional cooperation. Our Minister also thanked Indonesia for inviting him to this meeting. The visit of Mongolian FM is a vital step that approaches Mongolia's membership of the APEC, and Indonesia will support this work, Mr Natalegawa affirmed. Mongolia has been doing efforts to join the APEC in frames of its priorities of the foreign policy. It has been also one of the important goals to deeply participate in the Asia-Pacific regional integration and to strengthen its position in the region. Mr Bold is being accompanied by Ts.Jambaldorj, the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and A.Batpurev, his advisor.
