FM Bold meets UNESCO Director-General

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Foreign Minister L. Bold September 24 held a meeting with UNESCO Director-General Ms Irina Bokova, during the 68th Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Minister said Mongolia had had the UN 67th General Assembly approved a draft resolution on education for democracy and had successfully chaired the Community of Democracies in 2011-2013. In turn, Ms Bokova said the Education for Democracy Curriculum Framework, jointly developed by Mongolia and Canada, will be discussed at the 37th UNESCO General Conference in November, and that UNESCO will cooperate with Mongolia in implementation of the UN Resolution on Education for Democracy. She also said UNESCO plans to host a special session on this topic in near time, and invited President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj to make a speech in this event.
