FM: Iran To Express Its Views In Shanghai Meeting Clearly

Beijing, June 6, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said here that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will present Iran’s viewpoints transparently in the 12th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. Speaking to reporters, Salehi called SCO as an important regional cooperation and said that the topic of President Ahmadinejad speech in the summit will be on current global management and that hegemonic powers have still kept their dominance in different aspects of economy and politics. He underlined that Iran intends to challenge this hegemony. Salehi added that President Ahmadinejad will hold several meetings with heads of states attending the summit, including Russian President Vladimir Putin. He continued that in the meetings, the president will discuss regional politics and security, world developments, Islamic awakening and international economic issues, especially dollar and euro fluctuations. After the summit meeting, Ahmadinejad will hold a meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao. Salehi added that the two presidents will discuss and exchange views on different dimensions of bilateral politico-economic and trade relations. In this meeting several cooperation documents will be signed. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad heading a high ranking delegation arrived in Beijing, capital of China, on Tuesday evening to attend the 12th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Minister of Economy and Finance Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari, President Senior Advisor Mojtaba Samare Hashemi, Vice-President in Executive Affairs Hamid Baghaei, Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi, Governor of Central Bank Mahmoud Bahmani and Head of Aerospace Organization Hamid Fazli are accompanying the president./end
