FM Spokesman: Iran Will Not Accept Syria's OIC Membership Suspension

Tehran, Aug 14, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast announced here Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran, by no means, will accept suspension of Syrian membership at the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Addressing reporters during his weekly press briefing, he reiterated that certain countries may suggest suspension of Syrian membership at the OIC during the Mecca meeting but Tehran would never accept the proposal. He stressed that such a move has been the result of negligence regarding the Zionist regime's conspiracies in the region./end
