FM Urges Palestinians' Vigilance Against Plots

Tehran, May 14, IRNA – Iran's FM Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday called on all Palestinian groups to exercise vigilance against enemies' conspiracies. In a meeting with his visiting Palestinian counterpart Muhammad Ahmad Awaz, Salehi underlined the need for consolidation of unity among various Palestinian groups. Salehi then congratulated Awaz on his appointment as Palestine's foreign minister, expressing hope that rights of the oppressed Palestinians would be fulfilled soon. He voiced strong support of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khomeini for both Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements. Hailing the wave of Islamic Awakening in the Arab world, Salehi called for a bright future for the regional states, including Palestine. Briefing Iran's stand on Syria, Salehi said the Islamic Republic is against any foreign meddling in Syrian internal affairs. For his part, Awaz appreciated Iran's support for the Palestinians and criticized the international indifference towards the human crisis in the Gaza Strip caused by the Zionist regime.
