Foreign minister says Kyrgyzstan ready to join efforts with Russia to fight terror

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan is ready to join efforts with Russia in order to fight terrorism on the global and regional level, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldayev said on Tuesday. "There is no justification for terrorism, this scourge has neither boundaries nor nationality," he said at the opening ceremony of an exhibition in Moscow dedicated to the 25th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries, in which he took part alongside Russian top diplomat Sergey Lavrov. "In this fight against terrorism we should stand together. We should be together with Russia," Abdyldayev added. "President (of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek) Atambayev offered his condolences to President (of Russia Vladimir) Putin and conveyed condolences to the families and friends of those killed," the Kyrgyz foreign minister said. "This attack once again shows that we should join efforts to combat terror on the global and regional level," Abdyldayev pointed out. "Kyrgyzstan will do everything it can to fight against the evil of terrorism," he concluded. Russian top diplomat Sergey Lavrov, in turn, thanked "the Kyrgyz friends and allies for showing solidarity with us after the deplorable terrorist attack carried out yesterday in St. Petersburg." "I believe that it once again points to the need to boost cooperation in order to combat this global scourge," Lavrov added. On April 3, at 14:40 local time (11:40 GMT), an unidentified device exploded in a metro car between Tekhnologichesky Institut station and Sennaya Ploshchad stations in Russia’s city of St. Petersburg.
