Future bloc: Botched terror attack spared Lebanon heinous massacre

NNA - Future Bloc heaped praises on the remarkable vigilance, vivacity and speed demonstrated by the Lebanese security forces in thwarting the recent terrorist attempt and the arrest of the would be bomber Omar Hassan al-Asi before he committed his crime, thus sparing Lebanon a major disaster and a heinous massacre which would have rattled the country's security and stability. Future bloc's stance came in a statement in the wake of its periodic meeting at Beit al-Wasat, under the chairmanship of bloc head, Fouad Siniora, to dwell on most recent developments in Lebanon and the broad region. The Bloc categorically underlined the dire need for continual security vigilance and security coordination to avert such crimes, emphasizing "the importance of continuing to support the Lebanese army and the Lebanese security forces." The bloc also commemorated the 9th anniversary of the assassination of late General Wissam Eid, underlining that the bloc shall "continue to uphold the goals which the late General has paid his life for" notably to unveil the whole truth and hold accountable all those responsible for the terrorist assassination crimes till realizing the rule of law and order in Lebanon." On the other hand, Future bloc fervently deplored the recent kidnap of the citizen Saad Richa in the region of Zahle, calling on the government, the Interior Minister and the security forces to hit with an iron fist without any hesitation on the gangs committing such terrorist crimes and counting on the support or protection from illegal armed groups.
