GCC commission discusses progress of development in Yemen

RIYADH, 6th April, 2017 (WAM) -- A joint commission set up by the six-member Gulf Co-operation Council and Yemen to identify development requirements in Yemen has held a new meeting to discuss progress of development projects funded by GCC member to boost social development in the country. The commission's 18th meeting was held as part of efforts to ensure delivery of humanitarian aid to all Yemeni provinces and in preparation for an international conference on reconstruction in Yemen, said Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al Owaisheq, Assistant Secretary-General of the GCC for Political And Negotiations Affairs. Participants discussed a plan to drive economic recovery in Yemen and facilitate the country's economic integration with the regional bloc, he noted. Yemeni Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Mohammad Al Saadi praised the GCC for providing development and humanitarian assistance to Yemen. Representatives of GCC development funds, ministers and Yemeni officials attended the meeting held at the GCC headquarters.
