Gendarmery intercept 100 illegal migrants in northwestern Turkey

EDIRNE (A.A) - August 6, 2011 - Turkish gendarmery and border patrolling teams detained 100 illegal migrants in the northwestern province of Edirne.
Gendarmery and border patrolling team intercepted 100 illegal migrants, who wanted to sneak abroad, in Edirne's Bosnakoy village, Ipsala, Enez and Uzunkopru towns.
The illegal migrants, who were of Pakistani, Syrian, Palestinian, Burmese and Afghan origin, would be deported once legal proceedings were completed, gendarmery said.
