Google’s Move To Remove PG Name, Sign Of Enmity: MP

Tehran, May 26, IRNA - An Iranian MP here on Saturday described Google website’s move to delete the name of Persian Gulf from its online map as a sign of enemies' longstanding and deep enmity towards the Islamic Republic. Talking to IRNA, Majlis Vice-speaker Ramezan Shojaee said by doing so, the enemies are making efforts to manipulate historical documents in order to damage the righteousness of belonging of the waterway to Iran. Such moves would pave the way for distorting Iran's great cultural, geographical and literary documents in the future, the MP noted. The United Nations and UNESCO documents reveal that the name of the waterway has been Persian Gulf since ancient times. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has recently unveiled books and documents at Foreign Ministry which have been written since many centuries ago, revealing Iran’s righteousness in this respect./end
